Antibacterial soaps are useless at killing germs and may be harmful to pregnant women, experts have warned. A report published by more than 200 scientists has warned that antibacterial chemicals found in soap, lunchboxes and exercise mats could be causing ‘more harm than good’.
Previous experiments have shown that antibacterial chemicals used in household products are unable to kill off germs that cause harmful diseases and plain soap and water could be far more effective.
