This daylong workshop will initiate a collaborative dialog around grocery packaging and PFAS. Retailers and packaging suppliers, as well as scientists studying fluorinated chemicals, innovators of safer alternatives, and government representatives will share information and experience.
The objective is to develop strategies to move towards healthier high-performance packaging with reduced use of fluorinated chemicals. This event will build on our similar meeting held in 2017.
Workshop topics will include:
- Health and environmental impacts of fluorinated chemicals
- Regulatory landscape
- The emerging market for non-fluorinated alternatives
- Obstacles to change and how to overcome them
